From time to time, however, a format emerges that proves engaging enough to stand the test of time. A notable example is Spin & Go, which many regular players viewed with skepticism at first. However, it eventually proved to have lasting appeal and real strategic depth.

Designing an original and fun-to-play format in Pot Limit Omaha is even more challenging. Recently the All-in or Fold variant has been gaining traction, especially on the largest online platforms.

At first glance, it may seem like a format where variance decides everything. And we can't deny — variance plays a significant role here. However, as experience shows, appearances can be misleading. Playing All-in or Fold well takes practice and a solid understanding of the format. That's why we've included it as the All-in-or-Fold library in the comprehensive strategy library available via PLO Genius.

What Is the PLO All-in or Fold Format?

As the name suggests, the rules of PLO All-in or Fold (AoF) are simple: just like in the No-Limit Hold'em version, you have only one decision to make — go all-in or fold.

PLO AoF is played with up to four players at the table. After the blinds are posted, the flop is dealt immediately. Then, starting from the UTG (or Cutoff if fewer players are seated), each player chooses to go all-in or fold. That's it! There's only one betting round — the flop. Once all players have acted, the hand goes to showdown, the winner is determined, and a new hand begins.

The default buy-in in PLO AoF is five big blinds. Unlike most formats, you can remove chips from the table once your stack exceeds that amount — automatically or manually — so you can continue playing with a consistent 5 BB stack.

AoF PLO has already appeared on several platforms, and despite its simple rules, the exact mechanics can vary from one platform to another. While the format is intentionally simple and action-heavy — clearly designed for fast-paced, recreational play — PLO remains a complex game at its core. Even in such a streamlined structure, there are strategic nuances worth understanding.

Due to popular demand, we've also added full GTO strategies for the 10, 15 and 20 BB stack sizes in PLO AoF, which are becoming increasingly common on various mobile apps.

Because of its unique structure, AoF creates an unusual dynamic. While the potential edge in each hand is relatively small, finding another format where you can play as many hands per hour is hard.

PLO Genius Has Solved PLO All-in or Fold

For some players, the straightforward nature of PLO AoF may seem limiting or unappealing — but as with most things in poker, there are two sides to every coin. The game tree's relative simplicity in this format creates a unique advantage: it makes comprehensive analysis possible.

We've calculated optimal strategies for all 1,755 isomorphic flop combinations. As a result, you can study optimal decisions for every possible flop scenario — assuming a four-player table.

The GTO strategy varies slightly when fewer players are involved, so the library covers more than one table size. At 5 BB, all boards are solved for heads-up, three-handed and four-handed tables. At 10, 15 and 20 BB, all boards are available heads-up and four-handed, and the 15 BB configuration is also solved three-handed.

We've grouped all flops into seven categories to make studying and training more efficient. This allows you to focus on specific board textures and practice your decision-making using our PLO GTO Trainer, just like with other formats supported by PLO Genius.

In addition, we've included aggregated reports for each flop category. These overviews let you quickly understand the general strategy for a given board and compare its expected value to others — helping you prioritize your study time and spot patterns more effectively. You can also import your own AoF hands into the app to evaluate your decisions against the solved strategy.

GTO Strategy in Practice

With the help of PLO Genius, you can sharpen your in-game intuition - which is essential in fast-paced formats where you have to act fast. There are many close spots, which will be very unintuitive yet simple to master.

For example, let's look at a monotone board; on a Q♠6♠3♠, you should go all-in with any set when first to act (even 333 hands are profitable shoves!). However, when facing a shove, your strategy needs to be more selective — you should even fold some of your weakest QQ combinations.
